These Waldorf dolls are still made just as they were 100 years ago, individually handmade of natural materials. Wool, cotton, natural color and the loving handwork bring these dolls to life. The neutral features of a Waldorf doll help to develop a child's imagination; to see the doll laughing, crying, sleeping, being sad or happy.  There are different Waldorf dolls for different ages: in the first year a simple towel doll without arms and legs is ideal. It is easy to grab and small fingers can practice holding the doll. After the first birthday, the child will want to carry the doll. Therefore, a small light doll with arms and legs is ideal. At the age of three the child wants to have a doll like him/herself. Once in school, the child will meet other children with whom it has to get along and exchange views. Children like to replicate this experience with their doll.

The hair is made of soft mohair or boucle and can be combed with fingers as often as the child wants. Kathe Kruse has gained exclusive rights of the Waldorf Association, and therefore, is the only official producer of Waldorf dolls.
